Instrument Set-up

A proper set-up is crucial to having a great playing guitar. We use precision tools, proprietary specifications, and exacting tolerances to calibrate every instrument.

Our setup procedure:

• Set string height and radius
• Set intonation
• File nut slots for optimum playability
• Polish frets
• Buff fingerboard
• Oil fingerboard (rosewood, ebony)
• Oil and torque tuning machines
• Remove/clean component panel
• Clean controls/repair or replace, as needed*
• Repair cold solder joints, if needed
• Clean and polish instrument (if desired)
• Install new strings per client’s preference*
• Tune instrument to client’s preference

Please note that some instruments (e.g. 12-string guitars, or those with floating tremolo systems, etc.) do take longer to fully setup and may result in a higher cost on a case-to-case basis.
